For years since her dramatic weight loss Star Jones has been secretive about how she did it. She recently decided to tell all in a first person essay featured in Glamour magazine. The big secret is that Star underwent gastric bypass surgery which led to a loss of 160 pounds in three years. One of her reasons given for being evasive was fear that someone else would then try it and possibly end up with tragic results. Another thing she says is because she was ashamed. She felt bad about going from a full figured woman to seriously obese. After her husband Al Reynolds encouraged her to seek psychological therapy she began to speak out about her weight loss issues. This is really the other side of the skinny coin. There are girls who are so ridiculously underweight that we can barely stand to look at them when there are people out there with real legit weight problems. Maybe cameras should be more focused on those real issues instead of who is bonier than whom.
