Jay Leno off to greener pasture
Television host Jay Leno may be off to greene

r pasture after leaving The Tonight Show but that greenery is still within the compounds of the NBC since he will still make America laugh in another show which is earlier by an hour and a half. There were talks that Leno will leave the network but it is now confirmed that while he is leaving The Tonight Show, he will host a new prime time talk show which will air 5 times a week starting 2009.
The Tonight Show will remain but with another host, Conan O’Brien. Network executives have been wooing Leno for the last two years to stay with NBC after he was reportedly hurt by plans to replace him with O’Brien who was getting lower late night ratings than him. Leno however said there is no bad blood between the two hosts.
Leno was his usual funny self when he told reporters in Los Angeles Tuesday that NBC pulled him back in “just when I think I’m out.” Leno’s new comedy talk show which will be aired at 10 p.m. will feature the same segments such as his opening monologue as well as the sketches “Jaywalking” and “Headlines”. Bandleader Kevin Eubanks returns with Leno on this show. However, Leno said there will be changes as they will try to get out of the studio for more tropical stuff.
