Kate Winslet is not a movie star
That is what the leading lady of “Revolutionary Road” and double Golden-Globe winner insists on saying. Here are her exact words: “Please don’t call me a movie star. I don’t feel like a movie star in my life at all, and I don’t particularly think I behave like one. I don’t have my own plane. I don’t have a chef or a trainer.” In today’s context, I have to say Kate Winslet is 100% right. Of course you’re not a movie star if you have a great record of parts in award-winning movies, you’re a movie star when you have about 5 or 6 cars, chefs, trainers and planes, a load of money, no dignity and whatnot. That’s what makes a movie star these days and if they were giving out Oscars for that, “stars” like Paris Hilton would be record holders.
