Madonna gets $40M townhouse in New York
Majority of the United States and the whole world may be experiencing the effects of recession but not Madonna. Material Girl Madonna is actually living up to her Material Girl image by purchasing a New York City mansion worth $40 million. Madonna is based in London but has plans to transfer her base to the United States with the finalization of her divorce from director Guy Ritchie a few months ago.
The multi-million dollar townhouse is about to be transformed into a London Townhouse making the surroundings more familiar to Madonna but giving her the benefit of living in the US. The 12,000 square-feet Townhouse has 36 rooms and nine fireplaces and is one of the most expensive properties in the area. It is attached to a 3,000 square-feet garden including a two-car garage. The broker said no home in the area has been sold for $20 million and maybe that will never happen again after Madonna’s luxurious buy. Madonna however got a good deal because she bought the Townhouse for $5 million less than the original price.
