Brooke Shields recalls childhood friendship with Michael Jackson
Brooke Shields and Michael Jackson forged a friendship out of young celebrity that the actress has called instant – and asexual.
Nothing was jaded about the young Jackson, whom Shields met when she was 13, she said.
Now 44, Shields, who tagged herself the most celebrated virgin ever during her teens, has said: “He was like a little kid who talked about the bases – what first base was, what second base was.”
She continued: “It sounded very odd to the outside, I can imagine, but to the inside, to someone who’s never really left his bubble, you can understand how he would be curious.”
Shields, who last saw Jackson in 1991 at an Elizabeth Taylor wedding, said Jackson became more asexual to her, the more she knew him.
She said that, with the many girls throwing themselves at him and with her own chastity, they became even closer.
Of their last meeting, she fondly recalled: “We snuck in and took pictures of ourselves next to her [Taylor's] dress… We always seemed to revert to being little kids.”
