Woman given 100 by Simon Cowell after purse was stolen says he’s a ‘big softie’

The woman who was given cash by Simon Cowell after her purse was stolen at an X Factor audition has said Mr Nasty is a “big softie”.
Lynn Phillips, 38, was in the crowd at the Glasgow auditions for The X Factor when she believes she was pick-pocketed.
Mum-of-three Phillips was said to be upset at the theft as the purse contained a poem she had written for her dad, who passed away last year.
It is claimed that when Cowell heard about the woman’s loss he gave staff £100 to give to her. Phillips, who is four months pregnant, was later reunited with the purse and the poem.
She said: “I had about £70 in the purse and it was gone. Thankfully, the poem was still there. I’m so relieved and so grateful to Simon. I want to pass on my sincere thanks. He didn’t have to do what he did. So much for Mr Nasty – he’s a big softie. The compere called me to the front of the stage and said: ‘This is from Simon.’ Simon looked over and gave me a nod and wink.”
