Redmond O’Neal gets lacklustre rehab report

Redmond O’Neal, the son of Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, has received a lukewarm progress report from his live-in drug rehabilitation facility.

Judge Michael Tynan said of O’Neal, who had been transferred from a Californian prison rehab centre: “I thought this kid wanted to do something. He isn’t working as hard as he can.”

Raymond May, a representative from the Impact facility, told Tynan: “He did a massive amount of drugs for years and that stunted his emotional growth, and he is just coming out of that.”

O’Neal himself said he had been sober for nine months. He said: “I have been holding back. I have been adjusting and still dealing with the death of my mother.”

Tynan ordered O’Neal to return on December 2, saying his report had “better be glowing”.

O’Neal’s lawyer Richard Pintal said: “The progress report was good. Redmond is doing well, but as Judge Tynan pointed out, he needs to step it up.”
