Mel Gibson planning Veracruz prison flick
Mel Gibson will make a movie in a prison on the Gulf Coast next year.
The Veracruz governor, Fidel Herrera, said Gibson will make the film at the Ignacio Allende prison, which will be partly emptied to allow the filmmaking to take place.
Herrera said the prison will make room for Gibson and his crew in January “because a grand production will be filmed there with our friend, the actor and producer Mel Gibson”.
The mystery surrounding the movie’s plot remained after Herrera gave no details.
Suffice to say, Gibson has visited the prison in the past. His publicist, Alan Nierob, could not be reached for comment.
Gibson also filmed a Mayan language movie, titled Apocalypto, in Veracruz. The actor-director donated $1million to Veracruz to replace homes that were lost in a storm and in Chiapas state.
