George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock among Screen Actors Guild Awards nominees

George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock are among those announced as nominees of the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The nominations were recently announced, and George Clooney has received a nod for lead actor for Up in the Air, while Meryl Streep received a nomination for her role in Julie & Julia.
Other male stars up for a leading role nomination include Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart, Colin Firth for A Single Man, Morgan Freeman for Invictus and Jeremy Renner for The Hurt Locker.
Streep is up against Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side, Helen Mirren in The Last Station, Carey Mulligan for An Education and Gabourey Sidibe for Precious.
Female stars up for supporting actress include Penelope Cruz for Nine, Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick for Up in the Air, Diane Kruger for Inglourious Basterds, and Mo’Nique for Precious.
Matt Damon is nominated for male supporting actor for Invictus and is up against Woody Harrelson in The Messenger.
Other nominees in that category include Christopher Plummer for The Last Station, Stanley Tucci for The Lovely Bones and Christoph Waltz for Inglourious Basterds.
Hugh Laurie has been nominated for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series for House, while Alec Baldwin will fight it out with stars such as Steve Carell and Larry David in the TV comedy honours category.
Patricia Arquette, Glenn Close, Kyra Sedgwick and Mariska Hargitay are among those nominated for best female actor in a drama series.
