The Library of Congress has chosen what I think is one of the best albums ever, Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, to add to its National Recording Registry deeming it “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” If they want something aesthetically significant, they should consider Jacko’s ever-changing train wreck of a face. They could even make a timeline of it should they ever make a big exhibit of Jacko’s face through the years out of it. The former King of Pop’s 1982 best selling album of all time was the most contemporary of the 25 recordings picked with nothing being added from the 21st century.

Mariah Carey has let out so not-so-subtle digs at Madonna on her recent interview for Spain’s Shangay Express magazine. When she was asked about what she thinks of the Queen of Pop recording an R&B album, Mariah says “it’s interesting… [pause] it’s very interesting.” When the reporter mentioned that Madonna also worked with Pharell who Mariah worked with as well, Mariah responds with “I don’t know, I don’t have any idea about her intentions. I’ll just say that it’s very interesting.” She knows she’s been one-upped, she just doesn’t want to admit it yet. Losing to Madonna isn’t such a bad thing sweetie. Be sad if you lose to Jessica Simpson.

Scarlett Johansson had a sit down with Spin magazine for their new issue and in the interview, she was asked about her upcoming debut album – in which her reply contains a pretty good diss on some of today’s most stupid singers. Scarlett says “I have no relationship with either [Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton], even as far as my lifestyle or the music I listen to. They probably made music that fits with their lifestyle - ‘Wouldn’t it be great if I were dancing to my own song in ‘da club’? But my album is more suited to my lifestyle. I live a very low-key life.”

Jessica Simpson was released from hospital last night after being treated for a minor kidney infection.

The 27-year-old singer checked into Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday complaining of “feeling achy” and suffering a “fever”.

But Jessica’s representative Lauren Auslander says the star has responded well to treatment and is now at home ‘doing fine’.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Jessica’s current squeeze, was unable to be by her side due to football commitments in Dallas.

Earlier this month, Jessica took a trip to Iraq where she performed for the troops. She is currently working on a country album.

He also happens to be living in his car when the auditions were going on. What’s so special right? One record industry source is saying that Warner Bros. Records has offered the kid a deal. It just hasn’t been signed yet but they say it’s close. Here’s a kicker though. A prominent record industry honcho is saying that “With Warner as a label, he’ll be back in his car before he knows it. Everyone knows they are not good for his kind of music.”

A lot of people can barely stand to watch her over emote on screen. How much more when she over emotes in a song? Who would have thought the Keira Knightley sings anyway? But she does. The British actress is set to debut her vocal skills on the soundtrack to her new movie ‘The Edge of Love’. Keira will perform 3 songs on the album despite her own protestations that she isn’t a good singer. Keira says “I can’t really sing. I had to have a few lessons, but once I started doing it, a sound emerged that wasn’t too disagreeable.” So why did you do it?

Madonna isn’t worried about her younger rivals - because she can still kick their “a***s”.

The ‘Material Girl’ singer - who turns 50 in August - doesn’t feel threatened by pop stars who are half her age because she enjoys competition.

She said: “Getting older is an advantage in terms that you’ve got a lot more experience and you tend to not make the same mistakes. And you feel a bit wiser and less impulsive. It’s great to feel experienced. But I also work with people who are half my age, so I feel like I have to work even harder to keep up with everybody. but the fact of the matter is I can kick all of their a***s! I guess I’m OK for now. It does keep the flame under my foot, though.”

The mother-of-three - who released her debut album, ‘Madonna’, in 1982 - also revealed she barely recognises herself in old publicity shots.

She added: “Sometimes, I see a picture of me and I really remember that moment - and it brings back memories, very specific memories. And other photographs that I see, I just think - who’s that? I don’t know that girl! I don’t regret any of it, but I do sometimes think, ‘Oh God, what was I thinking? Why did I wear that, why did I do that?’ All kinds of things.”

No it isn’t another pop star with a drug problem, it’s a career move apparently…

Sheryl Crow wants to go to rehab because she thinks it will be good for her career.

The 46-year-old singer - who has just released her sixth album ‘Detours’ - is desperate to duet with “hot” Amy Winehouse, who picked up five Grammy Awards last week while being treated for her drugs addiction. Speaking at an intimate show in London, she said: “I want to collaborate with Amy because she’s really hot and cool right now.

“I know one song ‘Rehab’ was very popular particularly because a lot of young people are in rehab as well. In fact I’m thinking about going. It looks like loads of fun and I know my career will benefit from it.”

O-k then. It seems that Miss Crow appears to have missed the point of rehab…

Maybe she’s decided to sell off some of her things on Ebay to pay for the lighter she snatched. Or maybe someone else is just out to makesome money off of her. Either way…

Her divorce papers leaked, her divorce settlement leaked, her whole album leaked and even her album art leaked. Now, the reported crazy OK! magazine photo shoot pictures that Britney Spears had where she supposedly got chicken grease over all her dresses, peed with the door open and let her dog poop on the floor have also leaked.

The shots going around the internet are said the be preliminary test shots, or so says the statement that OK! released. But if by preliminary, they mean a half-way done Photoshop job, then eh. I think I can actually count on one hand the parts that are truly Britney’s and couldn’t count which ones aren’t.

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi turned his back on drugs, after some bad experiences early in his career. Despite the strong connection between rock and narcotics, Bon Jovi insists he has remained clean for decades, and has never been tempted to try drugs again. I love u and your music and have everyone of his album and he is my wallpaper on my phone and computer and I have a huge poster of him on my wall in my room. Ok that says enough that I am a huge fan of his and if anyone can get this message across to him and tell him that I want to meet him and have a date with him, which will be so cool. About saying no to drugs that the coolest thing any rocker would have ever done, saying no to a temptation that’s around you all the time requires huge guts and an even better head. That’s what makes a few rockers attractive to nice girls who still think that the world should be drugs free; I think his wife should be extra careful as girls like me would be itching to pounce on this smart ass.

The Spice Girls just unveiled their cover art for their 2007 Greatest Hits Album. Sparkly!

The girls had something to say about it on their official website where they do most of their announcements perhaps to avoid any photographed cat fights and evil eyes towards each other.

In their statement, they expressed their excitement for the reveal of the cover and said that they were all involved with the design (really?) and are pleased with it. They also said that they are working on the album and have started planning for the tour.

They also gave a big Girl Power hug to Baby Spice who just had a baby boy.

This has to be qualified to be categorized under the ‘worst nightmares’ list that everyone has. Nicolette Sheridan and her fiancé Micahel Bolton are said to be releasing an album of their duets.

When asked to comment about it, the ‘Desperate Housewives’ star says “I am such a shy singer but Michael has made me more confident and my voice has grown. We’re planning an album of duets. You might think its madness but we like the way our voices blend.”

I think it would only be a matter of time until Eva Longoria starts rapping with hubby Tony Parker. Geez.

We love are stars and then we also love to hate them. When they do well the adore them and any hint of negative news and the back slashes start. Even after selling millions of records and winning grammy awards being two of the most recognizable names in the music business, Mariah Carey and Sean “Diddy” Combs has something else in common; they are considered some of the “worst” of the worst. Like Mariah Carey had a dip in fortunes at the start of 2000-2001 but has since then has deleviered hits to reposition herself as one of the all time leading artist. Meanwhile, Diddy made Retrocrush’s list for “100 Worst Cover Songs of All Time.” His reworking of Led Zeppelin’s classic ‘Kashmir,’ which he used for his single titled ‘Come With Me’ drew ire from the popular pop culture website. Sometimes they really come up with such shit work that it puts us to think as what toilet inspiration led them to create the song and at times the whole ablum. In a world where the shelf life of an artist is only at best your last successful album, such miss calculated moves are a real turn off from the artists.

With all four members ensconced in solo projects, the Black Eyed Peas have been unusually dormant in 2007. And singer Fergie says it may be that way for a little while longer.
“We don’t have an album yet, a Black Eyed Peas album”, she tells Billboard.com. “We haven’t had time; everybody’s been constantly working, as we always do. But we will have an album. We’re not going away.”
The group won’t be completely invisible this year. The quartet will perform at the London Live Earth concert on July 7 and at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival on Aug. 11 in Tokyo and Aug. 12 in Osaka.
The group is also planning a special tour for later this year. “It’s 15 different countries featuring 15 shows in some pretty unique places”, she says. “So that’s going to be exciting. This will have been the longest time we have not performed together, so it’ll be a nice reunion.”
Fergie, who joined the Peas in 2002, reports that bandmates will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo are all working on solo albums, all of which are on target to be released before the end of the year. But Fergie isn’t concerned about the group breaking up- even in the wake of the success of her solo debut, “The Dutchess” which has sold nearly two million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Fergie plans to spend the bulk of 2007 on the road, either on her own or with BEP. She’s currently “knee-deep” in a tour sponsored by Verizon Wireless and supporting “Big Girls Don’t Cry” the fourth single from “The Duchess”. She expects more singles to pop off the album but says at this point it’s anybody’s guess which will be released.
“I love ‘Mary Jane’s Shoes’ that kind of chill girl thing”, says Fergie. “Or maybe ‘Clumsy’ a throwback to oldies. I’d just like to get as much music out there as possible so that I can show as many sides of myself as possible and so people can discover that there’s something on the album for them.”
