Avril Lavigne’s feature film debut ‘The Flock’ is going straight to DVD. I guess the studio realized that the pop star wouldn’t really do anything to help open a movie. Avril ‘acted’ alongside the likes of film veterans Richard Gere and Claire Danes. It’s too bad they had to suffer too just because they had Avril in the cast. According to a press release, the straight to DVD film will be available in stores on May 20th. Maybe Avril will give away free DVD copies for every concert ticket they buy. Too bad no one’s going to her concerts either.

Dead Body Found on Property Owned by Mel Gibson

Apparently, Mel Gibson and some business partners purchased several properties in Agoura Hills, California, under some trusts. A bod was found hanging inside one of those homes on Sierra Creek Road.

The victim was a 48 year old white male. It was an apparent suicide, but police are still conducting a homicide investigation.

Mel’s rep says that Mel is not aware of any ongoing projects in that area. Although he is a part owner in the property, a spokesman for the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department says, “There is no indication that Mel Gibson had anything to do with this or knew about this.”

Stressful job led to drugs – Lindsay Lohan

It’s a hard life.

Despite an impressive filmography, tonnes of cash and gorgeous looks – Lindsay Lohan is worried she is already a Hollywood burnout at the tender age of 21.

In a frank interview with Paper magazine, the actress blamed her flirtation with drugs on her stressful job and revealed she’s desperate for employment again.

Defending last year’s hard-partying spell, she said: “I had a lot going on in my life and that was a way of hiding from it. I had a lot of work stress because I was constantly working and never took time to stop. Everything was go-go-go and the easiest thing was to run away from it, going out and drinking at night. You know, you don’t have to think when you let go sometimes. But I didn’t realize it was getting in the way of my work - what I’ve worked for my whole life.”

But her stint in rehab clearly gave her a reality check.

The Mean Girls star said: “I was so used to working and working and working, and for a good few months there was nothing for me to do. Now I know what it’s like to be an out-of-work actor and how much it scares me.”

Oscar Apology to Whoopi Goldberg

After Whoopi’s pity party on The View, the producer of the Oscars has apologized for “an absolute oversight” that occurred when she was left out of an Oscar montage. Gil Cates said, “No harm was intended, and I feel very, very badly that she was left out. I’m going to call her and tell her that.”

He went on to explain that the montage was not just of hosts as described on the show. Instead, it was a montage of 80 exciting moments from hundreds of hours of Oscar footage. Hence, the reason why former host Steve Martin was also not included.

No Brad Renfro Honor

True Brad Renfro fans were a little more than upset last night when the Academy Awards showed their annual montage in memory of industry members who died over the last year. Strangely, Brad was not shown in the video clips.

The last person to be shown was Heath Ledger, who died one week after Brad. If you remember, Brad died of an accidental heroin overdose. He was only 25. Most likely, Heath was shown last because he was expected to be the most liked and respected person in the montage, and thus would receive the most applause.

Heath Ledger's Award DedicationHeath Ledger's Award Dedication

Daniel Day-Lewis won the Screen Actors Guild award for outstanding male actor in There Will Be Blood. While accepting the award, he paid tribute to Heath Ledger.

He said that Heath was “an inspiration” and “unique”. Daniel said, “Of course, in Brokeback Mountain he was unique. He was perfect. And that scene in the trailer at the end of the film was as moving as anything I’ve ever seen.”

Later, he was asked why he chose to dedicate his award to Heath. Daniel’s response was, “I suppose that’s all I’ve been thinking about for the last few days. I never met him. I thought he was beautiful. I just have a very strong feeling that I would have liked him very much as a man…I admired him very much.”

Lindsay’s New Lo

Lindsay Lohan has received nine nominations for her new movie in the Oscars. Great news right? Wrong. The nominations are for the year’s worst movies. The troubled actress is hotly tipped to win the Worst Actress award for her dual role in the thriller I Know Who Killed Me.

Lindsay, 21 – ordered to do community service for drink-driving – plays an abducted girl and a stripper who is missing body parts. The film is up for eight other “Razzies”, including Worst Picture.

Awards founder John Wilson said: “I Know Who Killed Me is the most fabulously brainless movie since Showgirls, which Razzie voters picked as the worst movie of the 1990s.“By the end of it, you still don’t know what happened.”

Katie Doesn't Cash Out

She has spent the last few days making a crazy tour of every major talk show, hyping her new film Mad Money. It was expected to be a major hit and a comeback film for Katie Doesn’t Cash OutHolmes, who hasn’t starred in a movie in two years.

Instead, it did much less than expected. Over the weekend it only took in a mere $7.7 million. It was a far cry from Katherine Heigl’s 27 Dresses which took in over $22 million. Katie just doesn’t have the star appeal of Katherine.

Katie, looks like you better stick to hanging out with Tom. Or ditch him if you ever plan to make movies again. The crazy man is weighing you down.

Beyonce, the artist with too many slashes between job descriptions to mention, showed up in a green Zac Posen Resort at ‘Movies Rock: A Celebration of Music in Film’ which was held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday. And yes, she did her trademark pose of showing her armpits.

The noted singer and actress made a costume change into an Elie Saab dress some time during the show for her performance She performed a rousing rendition of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ from The Wizard of Oz.

The show will air on Friday, December 7 at 9PM ET/PT on CBS.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman - spiritual beings

If you’re ever in Leipers Fork, Tennessee, keep your eyes peeled for some A-list celebrities. Urban and Kidman say their home there, just outside of Nashville, is a special place.

The two 40 year olds purchased a farm there this summer and have spent the last few months working on it. There they can find a little time away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood and enjoy some much needed time alone.

Urban says, “There’s a pace and a way of living that is much more spiritually satisfying to me than a lot of other places.”

Aww, isn’t he just the cutest? Kudos to Keith and Nicole for being such an attractive, seemingly down to earth Hollywood couple.

Maybe my tears over Tom and Nicole were unfounded after all because both seem to have moved on and done quite well for themselves.

Someone tell them what “Final” means…

There is to be a 4th instalment in the Final Destination series. Director David R Ellis, who directed Final Destination 2, has been signed up to direct the 4th movie; which they plan to film in 3D. The popular horror series works on the premise that even if you cheat death once, the force that is death itself will stalk you until it has finished what it has started, usually as gruesome and gory as possible.

Apparently this isn’t true for sequels. You can kill a good idea. I think that the movie bosses made so much money (double their budget) on the 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd instalment they are willing to push their luck.

Do you ever get the feeling of de ja vu? There are only so many new ways you can kill a bunch of teenagers off before it gets yawnsome. However I could be totally wrong and we could have another hit movie on our hands. But ask yourself…who actually watched all of the Scream movies and can you remember what the last one was about?

Pregnant Halle Berry is winning her battle with diabetes, thanks to a healthy diet and good living. The actress was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after she passed out while shooting a show called Living Dolls when she first arrived in Hollywood. As a Mother of a Type 1 diabetic child I have not liked what has been said about diabetic people in general. I don’t care if Halle has T1 or T2, both are serious chronic illnesses that require care and attention. However, in T1 diabetes, without insulin people die, this is fact. And, you cannot, by diet and exercise, hope, or prayer change that to Type 2, and you cannot stop insulin - ever. Perhaps before implying to the world, which includes a group of young impressionable kids, that they can “ween” themselves off of a medicine that keeps them alive, she should check to make sure that is accurate and that comment isn’t going to cause one of those impressionable kids to harm themselves. I can tell you, she has caused a lot of waves in the diabetes communities today with this one incredibly ill advised comment.

Lindsay Lohan is refusing to quit acting after a disastrous year dominated by two driving under the influence arrests and three spells in rehab - insisting, “I’m here to stay”. The Mean Girls star, 21, insists she “hit rock bottom” after her final stint, in a rehab clinic in Utah - and has been slowly regaining the strength to make a comeback. Yeah yeah, like we have heard this thing from her before, she is repeating her own words time and time gain, she says she hit rock bottom during that drug over dose, or after smashing her car on the high way or whatever she feels would be a good excuse to say that was the bottom point and from there on she took Viagra pills to gain strength to make a come back. What do these stars think that we people are, if she is mad and lost that doesn’t mean that we are like here, our sense are working full time and in a clinical fashion. We know she is trying to fool us and we are not having any of it. She’s here to stay. That’s unfortunate

George Clooney will have to hand Michelle Pfeiffer $100,000 if he ever remarries, after the pair raised the stakes The pair famously set the bet years ago, and have gradually raised the money on offer - as Pfeiffer remains convinced Clooney will be tempted down the aisle one more time - following his first failed marriage to Talia Balsam in 1989. Ok she is told us her part that until he does not marry the stakes will keep rising and from $100 it’s now at $100,000 and she says he going to take the bow one more time, and when he does she is going to take all that money, good for her. But what if George doesn’t get married, then till how long he has got to be single so he stands a chance to win the bet. Do not tell me that for the next 15 years if he does not get married the stakes would rise but there is nothing to suggest how he can win the bet. If it like that then they both could turn 80 something and the bet would still be standing. It seems Michelle has the better chance at some stage.

Pregnant actress Halle Berry has hired security guards after receiving racist threats to her unborn baby, according to media reports. The Oscar-winning beauty, who is three months pregnant, has received sickening letters from a stalker. What rubbish things happen, it frightens me to see that there still exist some maniacs that have no feelings and sense at all. the child has not taken it’s first breath in open air already there are people making negative comments about the baby, for heaven’s sake that man needs to be arrested and thrown into jail. That’s sickening that a person would make those kinds of threats about an unborn baby! People these days are full of it! Love sees no colors and God does not judge because a person has a biracial child! ALL COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL THROUGH THE SIGHT OF GOD! PEOPLE SHOULD OPEN THEIR EYES AND SEE AND QUIT BEING SO STUPID!

A nine-foot tall portrait of Tom Cruise is the main attraction in a new exhibition featuring 31 paintings and drawings of the movie star. I really think that guy maybe should put his talent into something that would contribute towards a charity or a foundation that could use his artistic talent.(911 foundation, Breast Cancer, or even St. Jude Children’s Research.)What a waste of paint and time…..I am sure is looking and I am not here to deny facts and show that I am the smart guy here. Me can spend millions to have sculptures and painting and life size postures of him created and put up at squares but what really matter to the common people who do not have his kind of money is if he can do something for them, they do not his money just something small help that can bring a smile on their faces. Tom, do something for which you are just not remembered by your fans but by your country people, your peers and the world, wouldn’t that give you immortality.

Russell Crowe was left exasperated on the set of new western 3:10 To Yuma when director James Mangold tried to direct a herd of cattle, only for the cows to stampede in the wrong direction. I don’t care. I just same YUMA and I thought it was a terrific movie. Crowe was great. Bale is superb, Foster was excellent. Builds to a great climax. You gotta see this movie. When there is a movie that is in the making there are bound to be some mishaps and surely they might have tried to avert the same but things do not always turn out to be the way it is planned. What is important that no one was hurt and the movie has turned out to be brilliant! Aren’t there stunt men and coordination managers who handle a thing on the set, they should be held responsible for all such matters, Mr. Crowe should be thinking more about performing his role and that’s what he is there for.

Jenna Fischer and her writer/director husband, James Gunn, have separated after more than six years of marriage, the couple tell PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.jenna-fischer-photo.jpg

“We have chosen to separate. We are sorry for any pain this causes family and friends,” says the statement. “The enthusiasm we have expressed for each other’s lives, spirits and careers is real – we have been each other’s cheerleader and friend during the past six years and continue to be so now and in the future.”

In a note on a MySpace page, the couple thank fans for their support. They also add about the split: “You might be tempted to make one of us ‘feel better’ by putting the other one down in a post. Please don’t – we still have the utmost respect for one another, and we’d have to delete you.”

Fischer, 33, and Gunn were originally introduced by Gunn’s brother, Gilmore Girls actor Sean Gunn.

Fischer – who spent much of the summer recuperating from a back injury she sustained after falling at an NBC party in mid-May – currently stars as Pam Beesly on NBC’s hit The Office, for which she has been nominated for an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy. In December, she will star alongside John C. Reilly in the feature movie Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, the latest comedy from writer Judd Apatow

Movie writer/director Gunn, who penned 2004’s Dawn of the Dead and directed last year’s Slither (which co-starred Fischer), is currently developing his next project, a comedy.

My Spidey sense tells me that Tobey Maguire’s marital status has changed. A bet ya guys and gals out there that it has changed and our spider man is now married to his long time girl friend and the mother of his daughter Jennifer Meyers. The 32-year-old actor and longtime girlfriend Jennifer Meyers have tied the knot in Kona on Hawaii’s Big Island. The low-key couple, who have been an item since 2003, subsequently welcomed daughter Ruby in November. Though after his daughter’s birth, Mr. Maguire had been in the news for promoting his then to be released third installment of the Spiderman movie series and how much he loved the arrival of his daughter in their lives but never was there a word about the impending marriage to Jennifer. And now all of a sudden there is this news that the two are married and both are very happy for each other. That’s so cool, like the family is complete and they are together.

British actress Keira Knightley has had enough of the media’s fixation with her looks, weight and figure, and urged people to focus on her films instead.

In Venice to promote her latest movie “Atonement,” the 22-year-old star of the hit “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise had to field questions about her curves during a news conference this week.

keira-knightley1.jpg

“It’s really frustrating, and particularly when you come to Venice film festival with a film that is an intelligent film,” she told Reuters in an interview. “It’s a thought-provoking film you can have a really good discussion about.

“I think it was just a shame that that had to be brought up then, and the fact that we all knew that it was going to be brought up,” she added, referring to the cast and crew of “Atonement” with her at the conference.

“We actually had a bet going. I was like ‘Come on, how many times either anorexia or something about my body, are going to come up.”‘

Knightley is the subject of constant tabloid press coverage of whether she is anorexic, what example she sets girls and young women and who she is linked with romantically.

“I think what I want to keep it about is the work, that’s all I’m interested in, and when you’ve got a project like this I think it’s a shame to take it away from that.”

The actress, nominated for an Oscar in the 2005 film “Pride and Prejudice,” has won early critical praise for her portrayal of Cecilia Tallis in “Atonement,” a film directed by Joe Wright and based on Ian McEwan’s acclaimed novel.

Knightley said she was “really proud” of “Atonement,” her second collaboration with Wright after “Pride and Prejudice.”

But she said she is highly critical of her own work and finds it difficult watching herself on the big screen.

“I’m my worst critic,” she said. “If you really want me to cut my part to pieces, I absolutely can and I don’t want to get to a day when I can’t.”

She said that one of the attractions of playing Cecilia was Wright’s decision to use speech patterns and acting styles similar to those in the 1930s and 1940s, the period in which most of the narrative is set.

“I think the 30s and 40s, (it is a) speech pattern that we’ve pretty much lost now.

“It sort of reached the pinnacle of ’stiff-upper-lip-ness’, and people very rarely do it in these films, people are very frightened of it.”

o stone b willis.jpg

Vietnam has always played a large part in Oliver Stone’s life. So, it comes as no surprise that the Oscar-winning Platoon director is eyeing a return to that sacred ground.
According to the trades, Stone is in final negotiations with United Artists to finance Pinkville, a mystery drama he plans to direct about the infamous 1968 My Lai massacre that ended up being a key turning point in the Vietnam War. Really true, America and it’s people along with film makers have not been able to get over America’s failure in Vietnam and they have a story every now and again that they like to tell us. There have been comedy movies, war time movies and movies about the way brutality took place during the war, but yet they’ll find something more they’d like us to know about. Vietnam has been well documented and perhaps we all more than what we can digest but the appetite of Hollywood film makers are larger than the 7 oceans on the planet.

Geena Davis is feeling less than charitable toward the owners of a Minnesota-based advocacy group. The actress is suing Joseph Kelly and Nancy Gruver, owners of the nonprofit organization Dads & Daughters, claiming the duo stole her idea for the group and are passing it off as their own. It doesn’t really matter who came up with the idea (although I’d venture to say it was Geena). The most important thing is the parent being proactive in the child’s life. Let’s ensure that happens and not hurt the organization. But for them they don’t want to give an inch to someone else even if it means applauding someone else’s effort in trying to good some good work. Why not be constructive and joins hands when the pursuit and the goal is same rather than being destructive. Well all I can say these are the funny games that Hollywood expertise at and you cannot beat them at the game.

owen-wilson-2.jpg

Owen Wilson’s parents and brothers were seen at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Sunday night amid reports Wilson was hospitalized. Santa Monica police issued a statement saying officers responded to a “medical assistance call” at a house on Wilson’s street shortly after noon Sunday. A source confirmed the house was Wilson’s. So the star could have some over dose of ecstasy pills or something similar (I am currently being totally speculative and therefore my judgement could be wrong) but there is no other way a healthy person could be admitted to hospital under circumstances where there is a “medical assistance call” from the actors home. Now I do not think there need be a clarification from my side as to what is a medical assistance call. He’s losing his way and soon could be in a rehab and at that time the paparazzi and gossip mags will be out in their numbers telling their version of the story.

Wow, I used to think Foxx had some brains, again I am wrong. Dude, putting animals in a ring to kill each other is not right no matter what color you are. Moron. Are you kidding me?? Vick is how old? I think he knows the difference between right and wrong here and what does race have to do with the ethical treatment of animals? celebs these days think just because they are who they are can say anything. Even if it makes no sense and is dumb as hell. Hey, Mike that’s why you were hiding the fights behind your house in Virginia. I couldn’t totally follow his bullshit reasoning, so I didn’t try too hard. This situation has nothing to do with him being black, so Jamie Foxx trying to play the race card is annoying and stupid. Defend and advocate on issue that are of some substance not just for the heck of saying something. Jamie has just given me something to write and have a jibe at.

Ethan Hawke, whose split from Uma Thurman caused tabloid frenzy, says being part of a celebrity couple can be hard on the ego. ”What happens - it’s not that they’re jealous of each other; it’s that the person you share your life with isn’t in the mood to support,” Hawke says. ”You want to have a pity party for yourself, but they’re off to the Golden Globes and you don’t want to go because everyone is going to think you are jealous.” I believe it. Some men also have a hard time when women earn more than they do. So who was the jealous one in this case? When you guys get married at that time you will go over the board praising each other and telling all the good things that led you to fall in love. The moment the honeymoon period is over you guys are at each other vying for blood. Take life as is it comes, there is toilet paper all over the place but it ain’t meaning that you clean your dirty lien in public, what happened is history – no pain no gain.

The producer of Jessica Simpson’s upcoming film Major Movie Star has denied reports the actress is behaving like a diva onset. He says, “Jessica’s fun, committed and focused. She is a team player and she makes it fun. She’s a workhorse. Jessica is a total pro.” The producer says so because he cannot risk the production of the movie just for the ugliness shown by one of the stars on the movie sets and that’s the plain and simple truth. The poor guy has put in the money and does not want the movie to gather a bad image just because of a snobbish actress like Jessica is involved in the movie making. She can’t act but still the producer has given her a chance and how she plans to repay his faith, with loads of tantrums. Hey baby let the poor guy live for sometime or else he could just have to say all the good things about you which he never ever would like to say in his dreams either. Hey like this is the cool thing I’d like Hollywood celebs to do more often, it’s not just about be cooling with the young kids so that they like watching your movies. It’s more to do with having fun with the kids and being a good role model for them, in the process teaching them the good values that life should be lived with and fill their lives with some happiness. With his movie The Broune doing well at the box office there is enough reason for Matt to sports a smile and share good time on the Animation series.

Oscar award winner Clint Eastwood has become a sought after composer. He has recently been recruited to write the score for an upcoming film. He was approached by Harvey Weinstein to compose the music for John Cusack’s upcoming drama “Grace is Gone”. He had already had one score written by Max Richter which he scrapped. Weinstein believes that Eastwood has a good understanding of the right music that can impact the emotion and meaning of a film. Eastwood has been known to compose music for film in the past but only for those that he’d produced himself. There is a generation that has grown up with Eastwood and followed his career over time. There should be many people who are interested in what he can bring to film with music. After acting for so many years there comes a time to change and grow and he seems to be doing that quite smoothly for someone who has been in the business for so many years.

Former first lady Nancy Reagan is one of the first people to pay tribute to the late Merv Griffin. Griffin died in hospital on Sunday. She released a statement praising Griffin’s wonderful friendship both before and after her husband Ronald Reagan died. She said that they had known him for more than fifty years. Griffin passed away after a battle with prostate cancer. It’s somewhat unnerving and uncomfortable to watch their generation slowly fade away. It’s a reminder of who is left behind and what we are left with. There is a lot more going on in the world than Hollywood and the ones who leave now may actually be the lucky ones. Every person that we see go that we thought would never go, should be a lesson in itself that there is more to life than glitz and glamour.

Ferrera, 23, first met Williams, an aspiring director, at University of Southern California when he cast her in his student film. Together, they have a golden retriever named Buddy.
