Brad Pitt helped Bono celebrate his 48th birthday in Monaco over the weekend.
The ‘Fight Club’ star joined the U2 frontman and his wife Ali Hewson for an intimate dinner party at Sass’ Café, where they enjoyed an elaborate meal washed down with red wine and champagne on Friday night.
Although Brad’s pregnant partner Angelina Jolie didn’t join them, Bono’s bandmate The Edge was there along with Monaco’s Prince Albert. The cafe’s maitre de said: “It was really quite a surprise. It wasn’t organised in advance. We only got called on it that afternoon.”
The meal, which began at 10pm, was finished off with a strawberry cake lit with candles. A staff member described the party as “tres speciale”.
Last week, Angelina – who is rumoured to be pregnant with twins – and Brad took their four children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh, to visit Bono’s home in Eze, France.
The superstar couple are currently in France to prepare for the birth of their rumoured twin daughters. Brad and Angelina have forged a close bond with Bono and his family as they only live 15 minutes away.
R Kelly’s underage porn trial has been delayed for more than five years now so who cares if we have to wait five years between litigants? The R&B singer’s lawyers filed a motion earlier this week to delay the trial for the umpteenth time. The motion will be considered on the first scheduled day of trial which is actually slated to begin today with jury selection. Apparently, the info leaked out last week that a witness will testify that she had a threesome with Kelly and the victim was what prompted the motion. The judge in the case has been trying to avoid leaks so Kelly won’t have any excuse to delay the proceedings but that’s all gone to waste now.

Britney Spears is reportedly considering buying a $5.96 million mansion in Encino, Los Angeles.
The troubled singer – who was recently given back some of her visitation rights to her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline - viewed the five-bedroom, six-bathroom property yesterday afternoon.
The 7,300 sq ft mansion – which is not far from Kevin’s house in Tarzana - boasts vaulted ceilings, fireplaces, fountains, a spiral staircase, a Jacuzzi, a swimming pool with a spa, an indoor and outdoor dining room, a wine cellar, a family room and a designer kitchen complete with state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances.
Britney, 26, recently came under fire after allegedly trashing the $35,000-a-month mansion she rented in Malibu, California. It was claimed Britney never lived in the mansion, but held parties there, which resulted in massive damage.
The source said: ‘The house was left a wreck. Cigarette burns and cigarette butts were everywhere - and empty bottles of wine were strewed about the place. Most of the furniture was ruined with stains, tears or nicks. Rotting food was left in the refrigerator. Spilled wine soiled the carpets and floors. No one picked up after Britney’s dogs, and many ‘presents’ of dog poop were left behind for the owners.’

The singer - who recently announced her engagement to Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz - won’t follow in the footsteps of troubled stars Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan because she is in control of her life.
She said: “I don’t see myself ever following the path those girls take. I’m almost 24. I’m pretty together and I’m getting married. I wouldn’t ever let myself get that way and I don’t surround myself with yes-people. I think that’s the most important thing. People don’t control me or anything I do and I’ve never had that problem.”

Variety recently had a sit-down with Simon Cowell and he was asked to pinpoint a collective flaw in the cast of this year’s American Idol. Simon replied with “Personality. They are giving very safe answers to questions, making safe song selections. We are not getting a sense of who they are. We have to try to pull it out of them more. Britney Spears may have been clean when she was involved in a 3-car fender bender on Saturday night but she’s not completely in the clear. It seems that the cause of the accident was because she was busy putting makeup behind the wheel. The guy she hit says that he was admiring the white Benz and the woman putting on making while driving it. It wasn’t until he got hit at 10-15 MPH that he realized who the woman was. After the smash up, Brit’s bodyguard apologized for what happened but Britney never got around to doing the same. Shame on you Britney! Apologize to the young man!
Avril Lavigne’s feature film debut ‘The Flock’ is going straight to DVD. I guess the studio realized that the pop star wouldn’t really do anything to help open a movie. Avril ‘acted’ alongside the likes of film veterans Richard Gere and Claire Danes. It’s too bad they had to suffer too just because they had Avril in the cast. According to a press release, the straight to DVD film will be available in stores on May 20th. Maybe Avril will give away free DVD copies for every concert ticket they buy. Too bad no one’s going to her concerts either.
Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was arrested Tuesday in Laguna Beach on charges of DUI. Also in the car with him was his girlfriend, his ten year old daughter, and another unidentified juvenile girl.
He was stopped just after 10:52 pm after he was seen weaving in and out of traffic. Police Sargent Jason Kravetz said, “He smelled of alcohol” so he was given a blood alcohol test. He was later released and is schedule to show up for court on May 7.
Kid Rock has entered his plea to battery charges stemming from a fight at a Waffle House in Atlanta. The rap rocker, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, was not in court when his attorney entered the plea on his behalf. And his say – not guilty. Cops arrested Kid and five members of his posse last October on misdemeanor charges of simple battery. The group had gone to the eatery after a concert when the fight broke out. According to police reports, a customer at the Waffle House saw a woman in Kid Rock’s party and exchanged words with her, allegedly inciting Kid.

Sheryl Crow wants to go to rehab because she thinks it will be good for her career.
The 46-year-old singer - who has just released her sixth album ‘Detours’ - is desperate to duet with “hot” Amy Winehouse, who picked up five Grammy Awards last week while being treated for her drugs addiction. Speaking at an intimate show in London, she said: “I want to collaborate with Amy because she’s really hot and cool right now.
“I know one song ‘Rehab’ was very popular particularly because a lot of young people are in rehab as well. In fact I’m thinking about going. It looks like loads of fun and I know my career will benefit from it.”
O-k then. It seems that Miss Crow appears to have missed the point of rehab…
Sheryl Crow’s son is preventing her from having a sex life. The singer adopted nine-month-old Wyatt in May last year, and says the baby is already dictating who is allowed to sleep over.
She said: “I have been dating. But Wyatt is going to be quite the little gatekeeper when it comes to who gets to stay!”
Sheryl - who split from her cycling champion fiancé Lance Armstrong in February 2006 after a two-year relationship - also revealed she has a very specific idea of the man she wants to spend her life with. She said: “Over the years, I’ve been attracted to people who were much more egocentric. Now I’m ready for someone who’s not so consumed by his own life. I want a partner committed to give and take.”
The 46-year-old star also said she feels her new album, her first record since 2005, will show how much she has grown since beating breast cancer.
She added: “The last three years were a real awakening for me. I’ve felt a fearlessness I’ve never felt before.”
A lot of fans were disappointed with the news that the Spice Girls are cutting their reunion tour short. Choosing not to leave the fans up in the air with just a written statement, the girls chose to record a video message that apologizes to fans saying sorry for canceling their tour. Posh said “We have children. Kids need to go back to school and we’ve always said that our families are our priorities so we want to thank all of our fans. Sorry we haven’t got to see everybody. We had a great time.” So what’s Mel C’s excuse? She doesn’t have a kid.

The ‘Hung Up’ singer, who married Guy in 2000, is planning a star-studded summer ceremony to reaffirm her commitment to the film director. The couple will also exchange eternity rings.

Singer Sheryl Crow has slammed the media for prying into one of the most devastating periods of her life, and the people who bought the tabloid reports for entertainment.
The 45-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2006 just days after ending her three-year relationship with fellow cancer sufferer and cyclist Lance Armstrong.
And the star believes the events sparked an ever-present paparazzi frenzy that put a strain on her recovery.
She says, “Having 100 paparazzi outside my gate at all times because of the terrible things that were happening, it really spoke to me about who we are. If this is what makes people want to buy magazines - someone at their absolute lowest - that is a very sad message. I found the whole experience was very difficult. I went from being linked with one of the most famous cancer survivors to then begin diagnosed with cancer.”

Barbara recalled part of her conversation with Sam, “She’s (Britney) been to a psychiatrist. However, she is back in contact with her mother after some time estranged.

A friend of Christina’s revealed: ‘She is still really sore as a result of her scheduled C-section. It was more painful than she thought.’
Although it is taking some time for the 27-year-old singer to recover from the birth, she is already using her musical talents to bond with Max. The source added, ‘Her voice is fine. She is already singing to Max.’
In what could be one of the best things to happen to Amy Winehouse, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil is threatening to ask for a divorce from the singer. Wino’s father claims that his son-in law said that he was ready to call it a day after a recent fight with Amy. He tells Grazia magazine that “Blake threatened to issue divorce proceedings when they were having a row.” He also thinks that it’s Blake’s mom that is encouraging her son to seek a divorce. “Unfortunately, Blake is influenced by things his mother has said. I think Georgette wants them to divorce, but it’s up to them.”
Even friends are saying that the marriage is likely to fall apart saying “Blake has been listening to his mother, and he’s been hot and cold with Amy when they do meet.”
Who knew getting a haircut could be so controversial? Apparently so in the case of Rihanna.
She’s the cover girl for January’s issue of Allure magazine. In her cover story interview, she says, “The label (Def Jam) didn’t want me to do this look. But cutting my hair, it made me stand out as an artist. I don’t care who likes it - this is me.”

Fergie is the first to tell you that she’s totally in love with longtime boyfriend Josh Duhamel. But she’ll also tell you they aren’t getting married - or even engaged - any time soon.
She says, “I’m madly in love with him. He understands how to treat a woman and give me respect.” Not to mention she can kick his ass if he doesn’t!
But marriage isn’t in the plans for now. Fergie says, “We’re practically married, anyway.”

Ashley is apologizing to fans for having to cancel shows due to her recent, medically necessary rhinoplasty.
She says, “When my surgery was scheduled, we didn’t think it would be necessary to cancel the shows because my doctor thought I would heal in time. Unfortunately, the deviated septum was more significant than we originally thought so the healing process is taking longer.”
She’s been making appearances to sign autographs, but she hasn’t been able to perform. So, they have “had to make the difficult decision to cancel the appearances.”
At least Ashley is one star who appears to be taking care of herself.

Amy Winehouse has reportedly made a suicide pact with her husband. The singer is set to be questioned by the police over husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s charges of assault and allegedly perverting the course of justice. She could face prison if she gets linked to the conspiracy to clear Blake. If she gets parted from her husband by a lengthy jail sentence, Wino has reportedly vowed to kill herself.A witness on Blake’s case was said to have been offered £200,000 to change his story. Since Blake is not a wealthy man, the finger points to Amy. The office of the singer’s accountant was searched last week so police could review all her transactions.
