Jessica Simpson was released from hospital last night after being treated for a minor kidney infection.
The 27-year-old singer checked into Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday complaining of “feeling achy” and suffering a “fever”.
But Jessica’s representative Lauren Auslander says the star has responded well to treatment and is now at home ‘doing fine’.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Jessica’s current squeeze, was unable to be by her side due to football commitments in Dallas.
Earlier this month, Jessica took a trip to Iraq where she performed for the troops. She is currently working on a country album.

The love for Tony Romo is just spreading all over the Simpson clan – extended family included. Jessica Simpson may need to keep an eye on her little sister. Us is reporting that Ashlee says that the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, her older sister’s latest boy toy, is “really cool” and that she “loves him”. The ever face-changing pop tart was gushing about the way Tony makes Jessica “absolutely happy”. And the love doesn’t stop with just the Simpsons. Ashlee’s boyfriend Pete Wentz apparently has a man crush on the Cowboy when he called him a “cool dude”. What a way to man up Pete.

Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys football player, Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend and non-pussy singer. The football player who’s in a funk was dragged on stage earlier this week when he and Jess went out at the Key Club on West Hollywood to catch a show of 80s cover band Metal Skool. The band’s front man saw them in the audience and called them up. Tony initially didn’t want to get up there but he eventually did when chants of ‘pussy’ erupted from the crowd. He sang Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ and tried in vain to get Jess to sing. When she did grab the mic, it wasn’t pretty. The band made some excuse about them being buzzed but eh, we all know Jess and Tony can’t sing for crap.

Thanks to Terrell Owens, everyone and their mothers know how much of a distraction Jessica Simpson is to her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo. If you want to help your team win against Tony’s team, go to the new website aptly called Ruin Romo.
Their goal is to get as many people to print out a cut-out of the blonde singer’s head, make face masks out of them and wear it en masse to any upcoming Dallas Cowboys games. It’s something so ridiculous and outright funny but you never know – it might just work. And with Romo playing the worst game he has ever played when Jessica showed up, there’s a good chance there.
