I’ve written about how Jeff Archuleta, American Idol contestant David’s dad, is the worst kind of stage dad there is. Jeff recently had an interview with Us where he fires back about there being no truth in the stories of him yelling at David Archuleta or withholding water. The funny thing is, he doesn’t even make it a point to deny being involved in his son’s life whether it’s song choice, starting in on David’s singing at age 4 or 5, giving him the video of Les Miserables to watch at age 6 and shoving Broadway musicals down his throat. He also took the chance to say that the judges overreact. Even when he denies being a stage dad, he eerily still sounds like one.

Variety recently had a sit-down with Simon Cowell and he was asked to pinpoint a collective flaw in the cast of this year’s American Idol. Simon replied with “Personality. They are giving very safe answers to questions, making safe song selections. We are not getting a sense of who they are. We have to try to pull it out of them more. You cannot deliver an uninspired performance at the top of the show. And you can’t be up there imitating another singer.” What was Danny Noriega then, chopped liver? If he wanted personality, he should blame America for not voting for Danny.

She’s being nice and offering her congratulations, but you know inside she’s laughing. She knows she got the better end of the deal by being able to stay in her seat by Regis.

In response to Kathie Lee’s new television gig, Kelly Ripa says, “I’m so excited for her. Everybody’s like, ‘Have you ever met her?’ I’m like, met her? I know her intimately! I’m so happy for her.”

Kelly goes on, “She’s very influential in my life. I saw her doing it all - a working mom. She had a big impact on me.”

nikki-mckibbin-american-idol.jpg
Here’s another piece of American Idol news and this one may be a shocker. Season 1 contestant Nikki McKibbin was recently placed under psychiatric observation for 72 hours after suffering a severe breakdown in late February. According to a police report, Nikki called a friend and told her that she wanted to kill herself. Said friend then called the police who arrived to find Nikki with a number of pills in her hand. Nikki refused to cooperate with the police and reportedly tried to kick out the windows of the cop car. Her unraveling may be attributed to having released an album in 2007 to a lukewarm response and the sudden death of her mother last August. Times may be tough but suicide is never the answer.

Oscar Apology to Whoopi Goldberg

After Whoopi’s pity party on The View, the producer of the Oscars has apologized for “an absolute oversight” that occurred when she was left out of an Oscar montage. Gil Cates said, “No harm was intended, and I feel very, very badly that she was left out. I’m going to call her and tell her that.”

He went on to explain that the montage was not just of hosts as described on the show. Instead, it was a montage of 80 exciting moments from hundreds of hours of Oscar footage. Hence, the reason why former host Steve Martin was also not included.

Survivor's
The Lunch Lady from Survivor: China didn’t win the grand prize, but she did get a fat one from Survivor producer Mark Burnett after she announced that she lost her job after being on the show. He forked over $50,000 bucks to Denise Martin.

This happened Sunday night. The former cafeteria worker was, by Tuesday, was having to explain some allegations that she misled us, based on a press release from the superintendent of the Douglas, Mass., school district. The superintendent says, “Although Mrs. Martin was a cafeteria employee prior to her selection as a contestant, she asked to be considered for a promotion to full-time custodian, and was promoted to this position on March 30, 2007. This promotion came with additional benefits and a higher salary. Following her leave, she then returned to this same position.”

Denise’s response: “Nancy has been outstanding to me…I appreciate everything they’ve done, and I’m sorry. I apologize to everybody. If none of this had happened, I could never say I’m sorry enough.”

Let’s hope she returns the money that is rightfully Burnett’s and figures out where to get a decent haircut.

No Red Carpet for People's Choice Awards

Well, there’s one less awards show and one less red carpet. People has announced that they are going to try a different format in light of the events surrounding the writer’s strike.

They will instead use a “magazine” format. They are going to have winners present acceptance speeches on video instead of live at the podium. They will also answer questions sent in by fans via email.

People chose to use the opportunity presented by the strike to launch this new format. Depending on popularity, it could become an ongoing thing.

Well, if I can’t was Sally Jesse Raphel before the show, ragging the celebs, forget it!

The noted singer and actress made a costume change into an Elie Saab dress some time during the show for her performance She performed a rousing rendition of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ from The Wizard of Oz.

Dancing with the Stars Castroneves Wins Dancing, Loses Fiancee

It was just a day ago that Helio Castroneves was names the newest winner of Dancing with the Stars. Now, word has it that he and his fiancee Aliette Vazquez have separated.

He gave an exclusive statement to People Magazine, saying, “I can confirm that Aliette Vasquez and I have called off our engagement and are no longer together.” He also stated that he would like his private life to remain just that for now - private.

This isn’t the first wedding date change for Castroneves. He and Vazquez had already postponed it once earlier in the season. His explanation, “Everything is happening so quick. The championship is over, the dancing started, and basically, I was like, ‘Ali, let’s take it easy. Otherwise we will be divorces before we get married!’”

Now, this would seem like a normal, everyday occurance in Hollywood. Strange thing is, though, he isn’t the first member of the Dancing with the Stars crew to break off an engagement this season. In May, professional dancer Julianne Hough postponed her wedding to fellow dancer Zach Wilson. Why is this strange? In case you’ve been living under a rock, Hough was Castroneves’ partner for the show.

Hmm….sounds fishy to me….

Owen Wilson Talks Shop, Nothing Else

If nothing else, MySpace’s “exclusive” Owen Wilson-Wes Anderson interview shed a little light on what it might be like to be a fly on the wall in the quirky duo’s writing room. The longtime pals and frequent collaborators’ five-minute chat, posted Friday on the social networking site as part of its ongoing Artist on Artist feature, turned out to be nothing more than a tongue-in-cheek promo for their latest film, The Darjeeling Limited, which opened in wide release today. My prayers have always gone out to Owen since this whole think started. Obviously he’s in some kind of pain and it’s none of our business. All we (at least me) want to know is that he’s ok and/or getting better. He gives us a lot of pleasure through his work and the least we can do is let him live his PERSONAL PRIVATE life as he needs to and take care of himself. He’ll tell us whatever and whenever he feels like it.

She actually looks good here compared to her appearance on Oprah Winfrey promoting this movie. Jerry Seinfeld was looking at her on that show as tho he had never seen such a hideous monster. He probably never saw her during the voice overs. I like Renee Zellweger. Her FACE looks like that because she’s one of the few celebrities that have not done PLASTIC SURGERY. No one looks as perfect as most celebrity do when they age. I don’t even think we KNOW what celebrities look like when they get old. Demi Moore, Marcia Cross, ex-wife of House (M.D.), Michelle Pffiefer, Nicole Kidman the list goes on and on and on, have all gotten surgeries to look “younger”. I think that they just look weird and unnatural. I appreciate Renee coming out and representing middle aged women that DO age and don’t plasticize their face.

Marie Osmond Felled by Dancing Curse

Marie Osmond fainted on-camera Monday after her samba performance, joining the eerily growing list of celebrities who are literally suffering through this installment of the hit ABC series. The 48-year-old singer and mother of eight appeared to be just fine by the time the show came back from commercial break, with host Tom Bergeron informing the audience that Osmond’s first words upon awakening were, “Oh, crap.” hey girlie girl!!!! she is not even 50 and by no means is she OLD!!!!!! Eight kids yes 1/2 of which are adopted so behave yourselves. Feel bad that she fainted but dont put her down for it. 56 is not even old anymore remember how we live to almost 80 now. Don’t be rude both Marie and Jane are amazing women. Could you do better? If not then just shut up and watch them and if you can learn even the slightest from them then do so, the entertainment business is no child’s play kinder garden thing, you have to sweat it out to perform and sometimes over burden of work can cause a little dizziness. It should tell that they really work hard.

anderson-pamela.jpg

Pamela Anderson is shooting down rumors she was in a shotgun wedding with Rick Salomon and insists she isn’t pregnant. Pregnant or not pregnant she should first try to look a decent person for her age, I am not saying that she cannot wear skimpy clothes but that’s got to be occasionally when one’s attending at playboy bash or something. Everyday makes her look a whore which she is and always tends to look like. I hate to break this to you, but you are now 40 years old. On top of that, you have had kids and spent a substantial portion of your life partying like a Kennedy. Please do us all a favor and stop dressing like a 20 year old trying to trade sex for Old Milwaukee at a frat house. It’s no longer sexy. It’s actually somewhere between scary and sad. You are still an attractive 40 years old. Buy some clothes that are age appropriate so the rest of us can stop gagging when we are forced to view pictures of you. Thanks for the effort,

Congratulations! It’s a girl!

Former Mexican soap star turned pop star and entrepreneur Thalia, along with her husband, music mogul Tommy Mottola, welcomed their first child on Sunday. They are now proud parents of a bouncing baby girl they named Sabrina. She weighed in at 8 pounds and 4 ounces. Thalia was said to be in labor for about 20 hours! Wow! Mom and baby are now resting comfortably.

I wonder if Sabrina would turn out like her mama. Let’s hope she inherits all the talent and all that beauty her mom has. And of course, all the money her papa has. Lucky girl.

clay-aiken-photo.jpg

Why people want to believe a rag magazine is beyond my comprehension. Clay has stated several times that he isn’t gay, and, refuses to address the tired subject again. He said that people will believe what they want, and, he is right. Why people want him to admit to something he isn’t is just as ignorant as these types of articles. Why are people so fixed on who is and who isn’t gay? I’m sick of these accusations. Clay has stated he is not gay, but, people will not leave it alone. Seems they want Clay to lie about something just to appease their preconceived ideas. He isn’t going to answer this question again, as it just keeps surfacing. And, yet, there are those who want to believe a liar. John was put up to this by some of Ruben’s, Clay hating fans. They are the real sickos in this situation.

eddie-izzard.jpg

British comedian Eddie Izzard wants his career to follow the same path as acting legend Anthony Hopkins. The cross-dressing actor, who stars in new hit TV show The Riches, wants to focus on serious acting roles and win the respect of his peers just like Hopkins. Eddie Izzard is an entertainment law unto himself. There is and has been no one like him, in my lifetime, and I’m 700 years old! His ballsy and focus aim at stardom and acting perfection is so driven as to be scary. He burns so bright one is scared that he could implode and disappear like a shooting star. All that said I adore his tenacity (also he’s a very sexy bloke). He is a mixture of cockiness, melancholy and yet can still make fun of himself. The mystery of “Who is Eddie Izzard” keeps his fans wanting more and more and more. On behalf of all his fans “we love you man, wish you all the success you can handle”.

oscar_de_la_hoya.jpg

Last week Oscar De La Hoya and pictures of him dressed in drag where the highlight of my week. There was something about him dressed in woman’s panties and fishnets that somehow just made the week go by that much faster. Well the model that outted the boxer is singing a new tune this week–and it’s a lot different than her original story. As far as Oscar goes…those pictures are real. I smell a secret pay-off somewhere to shut this woman up. But those pictures haven’t been faked. And I’ll tell you, if he doesn’t sue her…and somehow fails to take this case to court before a jury, complete with photo experts, that will be all the answer we need to verify the actual authenticity of these photos!!! So basically she’s admitting that she’s a big fat liar and everything she said last week was all bull–and she expects us to believe her this week?

justin-timberlake oprah.jpg was a guest on a new Oprah show. During his sit down with Ms. Winfrey, the mega pop star only had good things to say about his wreck of a former girlfriend Britney spears despite all the crazy antics she’s been up to.

When asked about what he thinks is going on with Brit, Justin said “I don’t know, to be honest with you. I haven’t spoken to her in years. I mean, there’s no ill will—I have nothing but love for her. It’s funny because we dated each other at a time…wow, I haven’t talked about this in a long time. It’s interesting.”

When asked about their romance and what he thinks of her, Justin said “: I think that’s basically the best way to describe what happened to us. I think she’s a great person, and I don’t know her as well as I did …. What I do know about her is she has a huge heart, and she is a great person.”

What a gentleman.

Jenna Fischer and her writer/director husband, James Gunn, have separated after more than six years of marriage, the couple tell PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.jenna-fischer-photo.jpg

“We have chosen to separate. We are sorry for any pain this causes family and friends,” says the statement. “The enthusiasm we have expressed for each other’s lives, spirits and careers is real – we have been each other’s cheerleader and friend during the past six years and continue to be so now and in the future.”

In a note on a MySpace page, the couple thank fans for their support. They also add about the split: “You might be tempted to make one of us ‘feel better’ by putting the other one down in a post. Please don’t – we still have the utmost respect for one another, and we’d have to delete you.”

Fischer, 33, and Gunn were originally introduced by Gunn’s brother, Gilmore Girls actor Sean Gunn.

Fischer – who spent much of the summer recuperating from a back injury she sustained after falling at an NBC party in mid-May – currently stars as Pam Beesly on NBC’s hit The Office, for which she has been nominated for an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy. In December, she will star alongside John C. Reilly in the feature movie Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, the latest comedy from writer Judd Apatow

Movie writer/director Gunn, who penned 2004’s Dawn of the Dead and directed last year’s Slither (which co-starred Fischer), is currently developing his next project, a comedy.

Brad Pitt says fatherhood is lots of fun and not bad for his work either, although forget about sleeping. Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie, with children in tow, came to Venice to promote his new film about Western outlaw Jesse James, which is competing for the top Golden Lion award at the city’s film festival. Ha Ha The Assassination of Jesse James must be a piece of crap he made it two years ago and its not out yet whats the rush? Okay I now understand when the poor chap has to take are of Angelina’s passion for kids how could he ever find time to complete the movie. At 2 in the morning Jolie would wake him up and tell him hey creep get out of the bed and take care of the boys I need to sleep well every night to maintain the good looks or else the dark circle will fare up and the press will say we had a fight last night. Most women think he is the hottest hunk in Hollywood but I think he’s a plain body with mind and soul.
