Paris Hilton had a courtroom in stitches as she told a chief district judge, “You’re my best judge forever”.

Playing up to her dumb-blonde image, the hotel heiress was in a playful mood inside Miami Federal Court during day two of her breach of contract trial.

Wearing her trademark sequinned headband and dripping in diamonds, she took to the stand to explain why she had refused to promote the 2006 DVD release of box office flop Pledge This!

Hilton, 28, is being sued for £5.5 million by out-of-pocket investors who claim she hated the flick and tried to cut all ties after its Chicago premiere.

While many would feel intimidated sitting in a witness box in front of a packed public gallery, Hilton was upbeat and comfortable cracking jokes with Chief US District Judge Federico Moreno.

The well-respected legal brain – also known for his offbeat sense of humour – seemed happy to join in the banter, much to the amusement of onlookers.

When asked about her My New BFF reality TV show, which she was recently filming in Dubai, Hilton giggled and replied: “You’re my best judge forever.”

At one point, Hilton broke with traditional court procedure by waving from the witness box to grab the judge’s attention, to which he replied: “I’ve never had a witness wave at me before.”

When asked whether she was a control-freak type who religiously keeps tabs on her own schedule, or whether it’s handled by her assistants, she replied: “I’m an Aquarius, so I handle the creative side in all my business.”

It’s clear that Hilton has been out to impress from the beginning of the trial, turning up each day in glamorous designer dresses.
